Independence Park proposed lighting — Planning Commission meeting on March 21st

UPDATE: The following note was provided by Brad Sharp, Park and Facility Manager of Canton Township to Lourdes Cornejo-Krohn, our neighbor in Central Park:

“I would like to follow up with you regarding the proposed lights at the park. We have heard from several neighboring residents that they are unhappy with the idea of field lights. Therefore, we have removed the light project from the Planning Commission meeting on March 21, 2011.

Our next effort is to meet with the Canton Soccer Club to share the information. I know during our last meeting you still seemed unhappy of the idea as well. If you are still unhappy with the idea and would like to share your comments please let me know. Also, if you know of anyone else who might like to comment let me know.”

A neighbor from Central Park has sent along some information about a township proposal to install lighting at Independence Park — the large township soccer park on Denton.

Those concerned about the lighting proposal may contact Lourdes Cornejo-Krohn at
